FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I want to join a class. What should I do?
Contact Jennie Mechti via email jenniemechti@gmail.com, and we will help you to choose a class.

I don’t know what the level of my English is. How can I choose a class?
We will speak to you and ask you to do an initial assessment test before we decide which class is the best for you.

Will I get a certificate at the end of the course?
We can enter you for a Trinity Skills for Life examination at the appropriate level before the end of the course. You may have to pay for the exam. Your tutor will tell you the current fees for your level, and advise you on when you are ready to enter for an examination. The complete suite consists of 3 exams: Reading, Writing, and Speaking & Listening. Successful candidates receive a certificate for each of these and a full certificate when they have passed all 3. Certificates are presented in an Awards Ceremony each October.

What if I need a visa, or wish to apply for residency or citizenship?
We can prepare you for the appropriate examination such as the Trinity College London GESE exam.

What if I need a level higher than the Skills for Life examinations can offer?
We can prepare you for an IELTS exam at the appropriate level.

How can I pay for the course?
The Director will send you an invoice via email and you will pay via bank transfer. There may be grants available for refugees.

Where and when are the classes?
Most classes take place in Lichfield and include morning ESOL classes and an additional morning conversation class for Beginners. An evening class may be available. It may be possible to organise classes in nearby locations.

Can I have private tuition?
Yes you can, either face-to-face or online. If you are interested in private tuition, you should contact Jennie Mechti on jenniemechti@gmail.com to discuss your requirements.
